Why study Pharmaceutical Sciences BS at UB?
The Pharmaceutical Sciences major is a four-year program leading to a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences. Students are educated for employment opportunities as pharmaceutical associate research scientists engaged in drug discovery and development research.
While the major is structurally a basic science program, it is also a unique interdisciplinary field. Areas of interest in pharmaceutical sciences range from the physical chemistry of pharmaceutical systems; to biopharmaceutics, which encompasses the study of the relationship between the nature and intensity of biologic effects of drugs and various dosage formulation factors; to pharmacokinetics, which is the science of the quantitative analysis of drug concentration and drug effects in the body; to clinical pharmacokinetics, which is concerned with the application of pharmacokinetics to the safe and effective therapeutic management of individual patients.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of all requirements, the student will have knowledge and skills to:
- Demonstrate a strong knowledge of fundamental scientific principles in the pharmaceutical sciences
- Demonstrate a basic proficiency at effective scientific oral and written communication skills through:
- presentation of an original oral podium presentation
- composition of a scientific research term paper

為來自中國(guó)的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Admission to UB’s freshman class is selective and is based in part on the quality of your secondary school academic record and the number of spaces available in the class. You should feel confident applying to UB if you have an above-average academic record and have taken challenging courses in high school to help prepare you to be successful at university. UB uses a 4.0 grading scale and we expect students applying here to have the equivalent of a 3.0 on that scale. That is the same as a grade of B or 83 on a 100-point scale. English Language Scores: The minimum score of TOEFL IBT is 70, the minimum score TOEFL PBT is 523, the minimum score of IELTS is 6.0, the minimum score of PTE is 50, CAEL 70, CanTEST 4.5, Cambridge English Proficiency (CPE) score 185; Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) score 185, IB Higher Level English a Literature 4, IB Higher Level English a Language and Literature 4.
