Why study Exercise Science BS/Nutrition MS at UB?
This dual-degree program leads to a Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science and a Master of Science degree in nutrition. Students will study how exercise and nutrition contribute to the prevention and management of chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, obesity, and diabetes. The BS/MS program offers students the opportunity to gain a thorough understanding of human health and wellness. The BS/MS is excellent preparation for an advanced graduate degree or professional degree programs in medicine, physician’s assistant, or chiropractic. Graduates may find career opportunities in exercise and nutrition-based clinical research, health and wellness organizations, universities, corporations, hospitals, government, or start their own private consulting business. The completion of the BS/MS does not lead to licensure as a registered dietician.
Learning Outcomes
The BS/MS in Exercise Science and Nutrition prepares graduates for entry-level and managerial positions in the areas of fitness, health and wellness, prevention of injury and rehabilitation through exercise and physical activity. Students learn to enhance health and wellness through the principles of exercise and nutrition science.
Skills gained in this program include: Managing, organizing and meeting deadlines, analyzing, critical thinking, teaching, interpreting, communicating, persuading/influencing, coordinating, planning, problem solving, and coaching people.
Upon successful completion of all requirements, the student will be able to:
- Apply knowledge of the basic principles of exercise science and nutrition to optimize health and wellness
- Demonstrate problem solving, professionalism, and communication
- Conduct research related to exercise and nutrition sciences
- Describe how exercise and nutrition contribute to disease prevention and management
- Develop physical activity and nutrition programs for individuals and communities

為來自中國的學生設(shè)計 Admission to UB’s freshman class is selective and is based in part on the quality of your secondary school academic record and the number of spaces available in the class. You should feel confident applying to UB if you have an above-average academic record and have taken challenging courses in high school to help prepare you to be successful at university. UB uses a 4.0 grading scale and we expect students applying here to have the equivalent of a 3.0 on that scale. That is the same as a grade of B or 83 on a 100-point scale. English Language Scores: The minimum score of TOEFL IBT is 70, the minimum score TOEFL PBT is 523, the minimum score of IELTS is 6.0, the minimum score of PTE is 50, CAEL 70, CanTEST 4.5, Cambridge English Proficiency (CPE) score 185; Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) score 185, IB Higher Level English a Literature 4, IB Higher Level English a Language and Literature 4.
