Why study Exercise Science BS/MPH at UB?
The dual-degree program leads to a Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science and a Master of Public Health degree in epidemiology. The BS/MPH program prepares graduates to work on preventive approaches to improve the health of populations. Students will gain an understanding of the scientific, behavioral and clinical aspects of physical activity and the distribution and determinants of lifestyle-related diseases. Students will consider prevention from both individual and population perspectives. The program prepares students to develop preventive solutions to population health issues, such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes and obesity.
Learning Outcomes
The BS/MPH in Exercise Science and Epidemiology prepares graduates for entry-level positions in the areas of public health, wellness and community-based disease prevention programs.
Skills gained in this program include: managing, organizing and meeting deadlines, analyzing, critical thinking, teaching, interpreting, communicating, persuading/influencing, coordinating, planning, problem solving and coaching.
Upon successful completion of all requirements, the student will be able to:
- Demonstrate knowledge of basic principles of exercise science and epidemiology
- Demonstrate problem solving, professionalism, and communication
- Apply knowledge of exercise science and epidemiology in the identification and distribution of the social, behavioral, and environmental determinants of chronic diseases
- Develop strategies to address population health issues related to health behaviors and chronic diseases

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Admission to UB’s freshman class is selective and is based in part on the quality of your secondary school academic record and the number of spaces available in the class. You should feel confident applying to UB if you have an above-average academic record and have taken challenging courses in high school to help prepare you to be successful at university. UB uses a 4.0 grading scale and we expect students applying here to have the equivalent of a 3.0 on that scale. That is the same as a grade of B or 83 on a 100-point scale. English Language Scores: The minimum score of TOEFL IBT is 70, the minimum score TOEFL PBT is 523, the minimum score of IELTS is 6.0, the minimum score of PTE is 50, CAEL 70, CanTEST 4.5, Cambridge English Proficiency (CPE) score 185; Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) score 185, IB Higher Level English a Literature 4, IB Higher Level English a Language and Literature 4.
