Why study Mathematics BA - General Study in Mathematics Concentration at UB?
This concentration describes a basic theoretical course of study for mathematics majors intending to pursue graduate study in mathematics.
Learning Outcomes
By the time of graduation, students should have acquired the following skills:
- Proficiency in basic computational methods in calculus, algebra, and differential equations.
- Facility with computer-aided computations.
- Understanding of the basic rules of logic and proficiency in using them.
- The ability to derive general principles from examples.

為來(lái)自中國(guó)的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Admission to UB’s freshman class is selective and is based in part on the quality of your secondary school academic record and the number of spaces available in the class. You should feel confident applying to UB if you have an above-average academic record and have taken challenging courses in high school to help prepare you to be successful at university. UB uses a 4.0 grading scale and we expect students applying here to have the equivalent of a 3.0 on that scale. That is the same as a grade of B or 83 on a 100-point scale. English Language Scores: The minimum score of TOEFL IBT is 70, the minimum score TOEFL PBT is 523, the minimum score of IELTS is 6.0, the minimum score of PTE is 50, CAEL 70, CanTEST 4.5, Cambridge English Proficiency (CPE) score 185; Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) score 185, IB Higher Level English a Literature 4, IB Higher Level English a Language and Literature 4.
