The MSc Orthopaedics aims to integrate higher-level team based education in Orthopaedics & allied specialties. Clinical practice worldwide has a strong tradition of allied teams working together towards achieving the common goal of successful patient outcome.
The MSc Orthopaedics will enhance knowledge in a range of Orthopaedic topics. Students will study clinical orthopaedics specific to upper limb, lower limb, trauma, paediatrics, oncology and spine. In addition depending on the optional modules chosen, students will also be taught evidence-based medicine, sports & exercise medicine, bio-medical engineering, and musculoskeletal medicine or perioperative medicine.
Students will complete a research project thesis and viva, and will be encouraged to work alongside clinicians and researchers in order to make the projects clinically relevant and translatable.
Teaching and learning
Students will be assessed by a variety of methods, including unseen written examinations, Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), coursework assignments, short and long answer questions, forum discussion, dissertation and oral presentations.
The MSc in Orthopaedics is designed to teach students to apply knowledge from a range of Orthopaedic topics as well as from the chosen stream of optional modules depending on their area of interest and expertise. Students will learn to work in a team of allied clinical staff, replicating their day-to-day set up in their own institutions. Other transferable skills will be gained such as research methodology, evidence gathering, presenting evidence in a structured argument and self appraisal which will be useful for future employment.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計 Students need to have Bachelor's degree with a minimum overall average mark of 85% for courses requiring Upper second-class (2:1) degree. For courses requiring Lower second-class (2:2) degree, they need to have a minimum overall average mark of 80%. Some programmes / departments will require higher marks.
