The department offers two Mathematics master's degrees: Master's of Arts in Mathematics and Master's of Science in Applied Mathematics. Full-time students typically complete the program in two years; part-time students typically take three years. The Columbian College of Arts and Sciences has an upper limit of four years to complete the degree requirements. If endorsed by the department, extensions may be granted upon petition to the Dean.
The Master's of Science in Applied Mathematics requires 30 credit hours of approved course work divided between mathematics and one of the following areas of application: physics, computer science, statistics, operations research, economics, engineering (civil, electrical, mechanical, or systems). At most 12 of the required credit hours can be outside mathematics. Students must petition and obtain the approval of the graduate committee in order to register for courses outside the department.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計 To be eligible for admission, applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Applicants who have earned their degrees outside of the US must hold degrees from institutions in compliance with their national standards. Academic IELTS: an overall band score of 6.0 with no individual score below 5.0; or TOEFL: 550 on paper-based or 80 on Internet-based test; or PTE Academic: 53.
