在這里學(xué)什么?
The German community at GW is comprised of engaged faculty and students in the German program, as well as a German Club, which meets regularly for German conversation, film evenings, and excursions to events at local area institutions. At GW, the German community is not confined to the boundaries of campus, but includes important partner organizations in the greater Washington, D.C. area, such as the German Embassy, the Goethe Institute, and the German Historical Society.
GW's German majors enjoy personalized advising on coursework and study abroad opportunities. Many of our students double major in German and fields like history, philosophy, political science, psychology, international affairs, music, art history, biology, religion, and theatre.
As one of the strongest industrial powers in the world and a major force in the European Union, Germany plays a crucial role in international business and politics. German is the native language of 100 million people, and it is second language to another 80 million. German speakers have access to today's key players in business and politics, as well as to fascinating historical, literary and cultural texts. Whether your goal is to learn the language for business, politics, literary or culture studies, the German program at GW will help you get there. Courses in the German program range from The Age of Goethe and The Fairy Tale to Business German and Berlin Before and After the Wall. German is part of the arts and humanities program in the Columbian College of Arts and Science.
