Our MSc Developmental Sciences is designed to give you an understanding of the role of the child’s environment through the study of the impact of the family, communities and other social networks. You will explore the interaction of biology and social factors in the context of atypical developmental paths, such as those observed in dyslexia, autism and other developmental disorders.
The programme is designed for graduates from psychology and related disciplines who seek to deepen their understanding of cutting-edge contemporary research in developmental science, as well as established practitioners and policy-makers wishing to update their training. The MSc focuses on enabling you to carry out empirical research at postgraduate level.
CAREERS AND EMPLOYABILITY
Graduates can pursue careers in psychology, health or social work, education and policy development. Possible professions may include psychologist, counsellor or researcher. This degree may also be useful in becoming a further education lecturer.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Students will requires a UK undergraduate degree with a 2:2 classification, they will typically need to have one of the following: a Bachelor's degree (Xueshi) from a 211, 985 or top national university with an overall average grade of 70%; a Bachelor's degree from a national university with an overall average grade of 75%; a Bachelor's degree from a high-ranking private university with an overall average grade of 75%; a Master's degree with an overall average grade of 60%. To study a Master's degree that requires a UK undergraduate degree with a 2:1 classification, they will typically need to have one of the following: a Bachelor's degree (Xueshi) from a 211, 985 or top national university with an overall average grade of 75%; a Bachelor's degree from a national university with an overall average grade of 80%; a Bachelor's degree from a high-ranking private university with an overall average grade of 80%; a Master's degree with an overall average grade of 70%. If they do not meet these criteria, they can apply for Birkbeck’s International Foundation Programme, which acts as a bridge between undergraduate and postgraduate study, preparing students to study a Master’s degree in the UK. There are progression pathways onto various courses at Birkbeck.
