With a Master of Science in Environmental Science (MSES) degree from SPEA, you’ll become an environmental professional—mastering the science, along with the analytical and policy skills needed to apply scientific knowledge and lead the way toward solving environmental issues facing our global society.
No matter what specific concentration you choose, your MSES degree will rest on a broad, firm foundation of core competencies. We’ll work to ensure that you gain a general knowledge of environmental science and management, along with the tools and skills to apply that knowledge in the real world. A Curriculum Advisory Committee will work with you to make sure your program seamlessly combines the core curriculum with study in your concentration area.
The program requires 48 credit hours distributed among four areas:
Core science courses (15 credit hours)
