The B.A. major in Near Eastern languages and cultures—culture track provides students with broad training in Middle Eastern cultures while developing an intermediate proficiency through the fourth semester level in a chosen Near Eastern language (Arabic, Hebrew, Persian, or Turkish). In their coursework, NELC culture majors can investigate the politics, history, literature, dialectics, religions, and other aspects of Near Eastern societies. Courses in Near Eastern literatures and cultures, many of which are open to students with no knowledge of any of the Middle Eastern languages, may be used in conjunction with approved courses from other disciplines, such as Central Eurasian studies, religious studies, history, political science, and folklore to complete the major. Graduates of this major pursue careers in a variety of fields, especially in government, journalism, the military, and with various nonprofits.

為來(lái)自中國(guó)的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Students must have completed Upper Middle School Graduation Certificate with official English translation bearing the original ink seal of the school. Other English Language Requirements accepted: TOEFL with a minimum score of 550(paper-based).
