Biomedical engineering (BME) is a fast-growing, interdisciplinary field that integrates engineering, mathematics, medicine, and science to improve human health and quality of life. BME graduates are job-ready engineers for the medical device, health care, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical industries.
The mission of the Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering is to unite engineering and medicine to improve lives.
Along with the traditional areas of biomedical engineering, Master’s and doctoral students have the opportunity to select from five specialty areas:
Biomedical Microdevices Medical Imaging Pharmacoengineering Rehabilitation Engineering Regenerative Medicine
