Middle Grades Language Arts & Social Studies (MSL) is an undergraduate program in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. The major seeks to prepare teachers who can effectively educate young adolescents, while being responsible for their unique needs, interests and abilities. Graduates can earn licensure for teaching grades 6-9 in two subject disciplines: language arts and social studies.

Courses include:

Introduction to 21st. Century Teaching, Educational Psychology, Writing Across the Curriculum, Literature for Adolescents, Teaching the Exceptional Child
