Marine science is a field that studies various aspects of oceans as well as coastal or inland waters to explore interaction of biology, earth and atmospheric sciences. Some of the specialties can include marine physics, chemical oceanography, marine meteorology, geological oceanography, biological oceanography and others.

Marine science graduates typically find employment with state and federal agencies as research assistants. Universities also employ graduates as research a assistants/technicians. These positions may involve field as well as laboratory work and employees are often involved in compiling and analyzing data for research studies/projects, management of coastal area resources, monitoring or mitigating environmental issues, weather predictions, etc.

Concentrations: Biological Oceanography, Chemistry, Geology, Meteorology and Physics. If students plan accordingly they can earn two B.S. degrees-one in Marine Science and a second one in a life science, geology, meterology or physics.

Oceanography, Geology, Coastal Environment, Observational Methods and Data Analysis in Marine Physics, Mineralogy and Optical Mineralogy, Marine Meteorology, Marine Sediment Transport
