The impact teachers have on society is great; their influence stems from their love of learning, personal enjoyment of their content, and the desire to spark that fire in students. Teachers get joy from those “a-ha!” moments in the classroom and no two days are exactly the same! The Spanish B.A. with a concentration in teaching will provide you with the content framework while you learn the art of content delivery. From coursework to workshops to licensure requirements, you will be guided through the necessary steps, so you can go from learning in a classroom to leading one. Adding the Teacher Education Concentration will not only help you earn a license to teach in K-12 schools in North Carolina; it can open doorways to other careers as well. The College of Humanities & Social Sciences Professional Education degree allows students to:
Take a variety of courses in their content area, leading to a deeper and broader understanding of the content they will teach Earn both a BA degree and a teaching license in 4 years Learn content knowledge and classroom instruction simultaneously Practice and refine teaching skills in the content area through education courses Participate in field experiences in the public schools, including a semester-long teaching internship
