The MSc in Climate Change, Management & Finance is a one-year programme that provides the necessary interdisciplinary skills required in business on issues relating to climate and environmental change. You’ll benefit from the expertise of both the Business School and the Grantham Institute, as well as their links with industry and policymakers. The programme balances business skills and class-based discussion to strengthen your conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills. You undertake both individual and group work, while regular seminars and guest lectures by expert external speakers embed this MSc in the business world.
The autumn term includes a number of core modules and familiarises students with the IPCC findings and topical issues in climate science, as well as accounting, corporate finance and economics. The spring term includes core modules on mitigation technologies and the impact of climate change. There is a balance between business and climate modules in order to foster links and interactions between the two, with additional modules on marketing, finance and risk management. In the summer term, you complete further core modules and undertake either a report on a work-placement or on a group work of consultancy. You also work on your final individual report which you will submit in mid-September during the summer vacation period.
