Our Urban Planning and Resilience MA gives you the academic and professional core knowledge, understanding, skills and experience required to practice professionally as an urban planner and help cities address and find solutions for 21st-century challenges.
Overview
The programme provides a challenging, exciting and dynamic learning experience. Building on your existing experiences and background knowledge, the MA draws heavily on the Kent School of Architecture and Planning’s work in the University’s European campuses and study centres to develop your research and analytical capabilities.
During your studies, you develop an understanding of the planning profession with reference to how people and places interact. You take into account the unique needs and characteristics of different places and people through working with city teams in Canterbury and beyond.
You develop a range of problem solving, interpersonal and teamwork skills across the modules which complement the theory and enhance its application in practice. We develop your ability to work effectively within business, social and neighbourhood forums.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計 For entry to a Kent postgraduate degree programme (Master’s), Chinese students typically need to have completed a Bachelor Degree (Xueshi) at a recognised institution. Exact requirements will depend on the postgraduate degree you are applying for and the undergraduate degree you have studied. For programmes that require a 2:1 we usually ask for a Bachelor degree (Xueshi) from a 211 university with a final grade of 70%. For Bachelor degrees from other recognised institutions you will need to achieve a final grade of 75%. For programmes that require a 2:2 we usually ask for a Bachelor degree (Xueshi) from a 211 university with a final grade of 65%. For Bachelor degrees from other recognised institutions you will need to achieve a final grade of 70%. Applicants with relevant work experience may be considered with lower grades. Some, but not all, postgraduate programmes require your undergraduate degree to have a related major. Some postgraduate programmes may require work experience in a relevant field or at a certain level. For MBA, Students who wish to apply for a higher degree should have a good honours degree from the UK (minimum 2:2) or equivalent internationally recognised qualification. Exceptions will be considered for senior managers with more than ten years’ managerial work experience. Students need to have an IELTS score of 6.5 overall (with a minimum of 6.0 in R&W; 5.5 in S&L).
