Our MSc Human Resource Management programme is approved by the Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development (CIPD) and is ideal for those interested in developing a career in human resource management, personnel or allied fields of management.
This course covers all the essentials of human resource management and develops your skills up to a strategic level, culminating in a dissertation. It includes the opportunity to undertake optional modules to tailor your degree in areas including employment relations, work design and leadership and performance management to name a few. Our MSc Human Resource Management programme is taught by academics with both a strong track record in human resource management related research and practitioner HR experience. It focuses on developing critical thinking and analytical skills alongside more practical skills required for a career in people management. These practical skills include making presentations, role-play practice in handling challenging situations, and problem solving skills through case study analysis. Our links to the CIPD reinforce the professional skills and behaviours that you develop throughout the course, as well as providing the opportunity for networking with business leaders and HR professionals. We pride ourselves on the international perspective that is a theme throughout the programme, as is the emphasis on ethical best practice which one would expect from aspiring professionals. Loughborough School of Business and Economics is a signatory to the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME), and these values are reflected throughout the programme. The master's programme offers you the opportunity to explore a range of aspects relating to human resource management, whilst optional modules enable you to tailor your degree to suit your interests and career aspirations. You will also have the opportunity to undertake an individual research project on an agreed topic, guided by one of our expert research supervisors.
