This programme will provide you with the expertise in advanced materials and engineering needed to design innovative and sustainable materials for today’s world.
Our master's in advanced material science and engineering encompasses all aspects of materials: their selection, manufacture, testing, use and applications, as well as environmental impact both during production and at the end of life. You’ll be equipped with a core knowledge of materials science and engineering that can be applied to a range of materials-based careers, giving you flexibility within the job market. On successful completion of the programme you should be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of:
the underlying principles and relationship between properties of materials and their composition and microstructure the synthesis and production of materials and the relationship between this and their subsequent properties the underpinning concepts and practical use of a range of characterisation techniques.
The specialist knowledge gained can be applied to a wide range of industrial sectors, including: aerospace, automotive, power generation and distribution, IT, manufacturing and consumer goods.
