The MSPH in biostatistics is designed for students with strong quantitative skills and an interest in research. It provides rigorous training in biostatistical methods and their applications, as well as coursework in epidemiology and core courses from other public health disciplines.

MSPH graduates are well-prepared for positions in government and private health agencies, pharmaceutical industry, and research institutes. The MSPH program may also serve as solid preparation for entering a doctoral program in biostatistics.

The MSPH degree is a research/academic-based degree that requires 48 credit hours and has a stronger emphasis on research.

An MPH degree is a professional/practice-based degree that requires 42 credit hours and is more focused on the applied practice of public health.
