This is your opportunity to expose yourself to an intensive research environment. You will develop expertise in research and learn the concepts, methods and skills required to apply knowledge with creativity and initiative to new situations. The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) is awarded on the basis of independent supervised study that produces a substantial piece of research as judged by independent experts of international standing.
The Department of Accounting, Finance and Economics offers internationally recognised degrees in accounting, banking, business law, business statistics, economics, finance, financial planning and taxation. Our program allows you to major in one or more of these fields.
Our high-impact research, innovative approach and strong partnerships with industry will ensure you graduate with a highly relevant degree that is valued by employers. This enables you to contribute effectively in your chosen field and meet challenges facing both the domestic and the global business environment..
Our research students form an important part of our community. We take pride in actively supporting emerging scholars and involving them in the activities of the School and partner research centres. HDR students also have access to our academic experts for advice on research methods, conference and workshop presentation skills, and preparing work for publication in scholarly journals.

You must meet minimum Grade Point Average entry requirements. IELTS: minimum score of 6.5, with no subscore less than 6.0 or TOEFL: a minimum score of 575 or Internet-based (IBT) TOEFL: a score of 79 (no sub-score less than 19) or Pearson Test of English (Academic): an overall score of 58 with no score less than 50 or ISLPR: no score less than 3+ in each skill of the ISLPR.
