This is your opportunity to expose yourself to an intensive research environment. You will develop expertise in research and learn the concepts, methods and skills required to apply knowledge with creativity and initiative to new situations. The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) is awarded on the basis of independent supervised study that produces a substantial piece of research as judged by independent experts of international standing.
The School of Allied Health Sciences is one of the largest and fastest growing Schools in the Griffith Health Group. It is known for innovation and excellence in health education, research and clinical practice and has a focus on addressing many of the health challenges facing society today and tomorrow.
The School of Allied Health Sciences also houses the Allied Health Clinics, which provide Exercise Physiology, Dietetics, Physiotherapy and Speech Pathology clinical services to the public. This clinic provides a growing number of practice placement opportunities to Allied Health students.
Allied health professionals play a key role in shaping and delivering new and more effective models of healthcare and are central to meeting the future needs of the community with regards to their health and welfare needs. This includes preventing ill health and supporting healthier lives.
Research within the School of Allied Health Sciences spans 6 discipline areas. All 6 disciplines are represented at the Gold Coast campus, and Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Pathology are also based at the Nathan Campus in South Brisbane. The school has specific research strengths in the prevention and treatment of musculoskeletal and cardiorespiratory conditions.

You must meet minimum Grade Point Average entry requirements. IELTS: minimum score of 6.5, with no subscore less than 6.0 or TOEFL: a minimum score of 575 or Internet-based (IBT) TOEFL: a score of 79 (no sub-score less than 19) or Pearson Test of English (Academic): an overall score of 58 with no score less than 50 or ISLPR: no score less than 3+ in each skill of the ISLPR.
