The Master of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages develops specialised skills and knowledge for professional practice in teaching. This course is designed to provide graduates with a comprehensive grounding in the theory and practice of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.
Two streams are available in the Master of TESOL, and the four core units in each stream also form an embedded graduate certificate, differentiated as follows: Stream A is for teachers of any method who are registered or eligible for primary or secondary registration in Australia and would like to add TESOL as a method or gain further recognition as a TESOL specialist. Qualified teachers who complete this course or its embedded graduate certificate can work in a wide range of professional contexts in Australia or internationally.
Stream B is for applicants who do not require Australian teacher recognition, such as those who teach or intend to teach English overseas, or work in adult education in Australia, including adult migrant programs or ELICOS (English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students).
Course structure
To be awarded a Master of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, students are required to successfully complete 12 credit points

Career outcomes
This course is designed to provide the skills and knowledge for professional practice in the field of teaching English to speakers of other languages. Students with an existing registration for primary or secondary teaching in Australia can gain professional recognition for TESOL as a specialist teaching method area. The course also provides professional development for teaching English to speakers of other languages in adult education contexts and for teaching English overseas.

為來(lái)自中國(guó)的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Applicants must have completed at least a three-year undergraduate degree, or equivalent, of an acceptable standard from an approved university or other educational institution. Other English Language Requirements accepted: TOEFL (PBT) score of 550; CPE score of 45 no less than 'weak' in each skill; CAE score of 52 no less than 'borderline' in each skill; PTE score of 52-57 no less than 50 in each skill; OET Overall B, with A or B in listening, speaking, writing and reading.
