A Bachelor of Arts encourages students to become informed and engaged thinkers and citizens. Throughout your studies you will have the opportunity to develop a deep understanding of the world around you. You will join our community of learners and engage creatively and confidently with new ideas. You will build expertise in at least two areas of study, which will give you the ability to think laterally and collaboratively, and you will gain essential skills in communication, research, analysis, and problem-solving and become an expert in critical, creative, and strategic thinking. It is this combination of knowledge and skills that will make you invaluable in the workplaces of the future.
All disciplines in Deakin’s Bachelor of Arts are taught through a combination of theoretical and applied learning, with many areas of study offering work placements. You also have the option to study abroad for a trimester, undertake an international study tour, or complete an internship as part of your course, allowing you to gain a competitive edge in your chosen career path.
Overview - International Relations
International relations provides you with a better understanding of conflict and cooperation, and war and peace, in contemporary international politics. Study issues in global politics: the nature of power and security, globalisation and global governance, human rights and global justice, the politics of the Asian region and Australia’s place in the world.
Career outcomes:
Graduates can expect to gain employment in a wide range of areas including federal defence agencies, foreign affairs departments, immigration departments/consultancies, major corporations, management consultancies and multicultural associations.

為來(lái)自中國(guó)的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Entry for applicants with previous Tertiary, VET, life or work experience will be based on their performance in: a Certificate IV in a related discipline OR a Diploma in any discipline or 50% completion of a Diploma in a related discipline OR successful completion of relevant study at an accredited higher education institution equivalent to at least two Deakin University units OR other evidence of academic capability judged to be equivalent for example relevant work or life experience. Other English Language Requirements accepted: IELTS: Overall 6.0, no band less than 6.0; TOEFL (PBT) score of 550 Writing 4.5; TOEFL Internet Based: 65 Writing 21; CPE: 169 no band less than 169; CAE: 169 no band less than 169; PTE: 52-57 No less than 50 in each skill.
