Overview
If you have a background in teaching or educational administration, or have a professional interest in education, this course has been designed for you.
This program is available by a combination of coursework and a minor thesis, or by thesis only.
The qualification awarded on graduation is recognised in the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) as Level 9.

Course Intended Learning Outcomes
Course Intended Learning Outcomes (CILOs) are brief statements defining what students are expected to demonstrate they know and can do by the end of a course.
- Competence in the design and conduct of a research project that incorporates methodological skills appropriate to the discipline and a body of knowledge that includes the understanding of recent developments in one or more disciplines.
- Ability to provide a critical appraisal of relevant literature and available research, to appreciate and understand the relationship of the investigations undertaken to the wider field of knowledge in which these investigations are located, and to draw out the contribution to knowledge made by these investigations.
- Knowledge and understanding of the methodological techniques used in the research and any shortcomings associated with these techniques.
- A satisfactory level of literary presentation reflecting an ability to communicate in a clear, concise and authoritative manner appropriate to the field of research and to the scholarly community to which it is addressed.
CAREER OUTCOMES
This degree will allow you to pursue advanced research within academic research, higher education, or secure employment opportunities within research centres, government or the corporate world. It can also serve as a pathway into a PhD.

English Language Requirements: IELTS (Academic): Overall score of 6.5 with no band less than 6.0; TOEFL Paper-based Test - Overall score of 575 with 5 or better in TWE (Test of Written English); TOEFL Internet based (iBT): Overall 79 with 13 in Reading, 12 in Listening, 18 in Speaking and 21 in Writing, Pearson Test of English (Academic) (PTE): Overall score of 58 with no communicative skill score less than 50, Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE): 176 with no less than 169 in any component, Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): 176 with no less than 169 in any component.
