Overview
La Trobe's Bachelor of Health Sciences introduces you to the physical, social and environmental aspects of health and science. Learn about the role of health professionals and factors that influence health both locally and around the world.
This flexible course gives you a broad understanding of the health sciences field and lets you pursue up to two specialized areas including:
Health and medical sciences (Bundoora only)
Gain practical skills and knowledge in relation to the physiological and anatomical principles of the human body.
Health promotion
Acquire the practical skills and knowledge needed to promote people's health.
Health, wellbeing and performance (Formerly Sports Counselling and Athlete Welfare major)
Develop skills to facilitate improved mental health and wellbeing in sport and broader community settings (e.g. work, education)
Public health
Learn the skills needed for public health research and develop strengths in health policy, law and ethics.
Rehabilitation counselling
Understand how the counselling process helps people achieve personal, career and independent living goals.
The qualification awarded on graduation is recognised in the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) as Level 7.

English Language Requirements: IELTS (Academic): Overall score of 6.0 with no band less than 6.0; TOEFL Paper-based Test - Overall score of 550 with 5 or better in TWE (Test of Written English); TOEFL Internet based (iBT): Overall 64 with 13 in Reading, 12 in Listening, 18 in Speaking and 21 in Writing, Pearson Test of English (Academic) (PTE): Overall score of 50 with no communicative skill score less than 50, Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE): 169 with no less than 169 in any component, Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): 169 with no less than 169 in any component.
