專業(yè)概況
在這里學(xué)什么?
Launch your career in language, linguistics and communication.
La Trobe's Bachelor of Languages and Linguistics helps you develop expertise in languages, linguistics and intercultural communication. Become fluent in either Chinese, French, Greek, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese or Spanish and extend your language proficiency by taking advantage of our study abroad options. You'll also learn how to analyse language, its structure and use, and gain an understanding of issues associated with the social significance of language and culture. Graduates will be equipped with in-demand problem solving and analytical skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively and strategically with and across diverse groups of people.
You'll learn:
Language
Acquire spoken and written skills in one or more languages to learn how speakers of other languages view the world, and how language works in their society.
Linguistics
Learn how to analyse data from a wide range of languages and societies and deepen your understanding of the structure, acquisition, development and social significance of language.
Communication
Develop high-level professional and culturally aware communication skills grounded in ethical considerations.
The qualification awarded on graduation is recognised in the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) as Level 7.
We look forward to welcoming all of our students back onto our campuses once it is both safe and practical to do so, and in line with Government directions. We anticipate offering a mix of face-to-face and online teaching in Semester 1, 2021 across all of our campuses - detailed planning is underway based on the likely requirement for physical distancing.
CAREER OUTCOMES
Graduates in languages and linguistics are valued by employers because their understanding of human interaction is combined with an ability to analyse abstract systems and solve complex problems.
Graduates can find work in information technology, communications or international relations, or apply their skills to translating and interpreting in community, legal, literary or business settings. Graduates can also go on to further postgraduate study. With further study, graduates can qualify to work as teachers in primary or secondary schools.
