Gain the theoretical knowledge and practical skills to become a social development practitioner. This course addresses the increasing focus on social aspects of development in policy, planning and practice.
You’ll be based in the School of Global Studies where we conduct cutting-edge research. This is a unique interdisciplinary school at Sussex with a vibrant mix of students and practitioners from around the world. If you have some experience in the field, we provide opportunities to expand and deepen your knowledge.

Throughout the course we focus on developing both your academic and practical skills – including analytical, writing and presentation skills. You’ll also gain a thorough understanding of social science research methods and gain independent research skills.
