Training health experts in human mobility.
Our three-year accelerated podiatry degree will get you career-ready, faster than your peers. Help restore a person’s independence and mobility by learning to diagnose, treat, and manage patients’ foot and lower leg problems. UON podiatry graduates are highly employable, thanks to our world-class training and high demand for specialised health experts across Australia.
A career in podiatry is challenging and rewarding. You could find yourself correcting sports injuries; addressing developmental issues in children; supporting elderly mobility; or treating chronic illnesses. Increasingly, podiatrists are also being called on to help address chronic health conditions such as diabetes and arthritis
What you will study
Over an accelerated three-year course, your studies will combine comprehensive theory and more than 1,000 hours of practical experience to ensure you’re well-prepared for a successful podiatry career helping individuals of all ages. You will:
Discover how to identify and analyse complex health problems within podiatry practice and develop solutions to these problems.
Learn to work within a multidisciplinary health team to best meet patients’ health needs.
Undertaken rural and regional health placements at our podiatry clinics.
Develop critical research skills that will set you in good stead for life-long learning as a podiatrist.
Your course topics will include:

- physiology and biomechanics
- podiatric theory
Career opportunities
Our podiatry students have great employment opportunities. Within four months of graduation, 83% of our health graduates are employed full time.
Podiatrists work in a range of health environments, including:
- private and public practices
- general hospitals
- rehabilitation and community health centres
- sports clinics
- research centres

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) There are a number of ways to gain entry to undergraduate programs at the University of Newcastle. You may be considered for admission on the basis of: a completed NSW Higher School Certificate (HSC) or equivalent – irrespective of age of qualification; completed or partly completed higher education studies; TAFE/VET qualifications, with a minimum of a completed Certificate III (AQF level 3), excluding the Bachelor of Nursing; TAFE/VET qualifications, with a minimum of a completed Certificate II (AQF level 2) in conjunction with meeting additional performance based selection criteria for the Bachelor of Music and associated combined degrees; completion of a recognised enabling program within a 10 year period preceding admission to the University; overseas qualifications equivalent to Australian studies. English language requirement: TOEFL paper-based test score of 500; TOEFL internet based score of 60; IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0; PTE GSE score of 50; Cambridge English: Advanced score of 52.
