Studying the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) at our Newcastle Law School is your passport to a career as a successful lawyer, or a range of other related legal professions. Our law courses are tailored to provide you with a study program that will prepare you for work in diverse employment contexts.
This degree is offered as a combined program which means you combine your Bachelor of Laws with another degree and get two qualifications in only five years of study. If you want to be a practicing lawyer, you can also complete the Diploma of Legal Practice and work in the legal system as soon as you graduate.
What you will study
When you study a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree at the University of Newcastle you will graduate with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a second Bachelor level degree in just five years of full-time study. This means that you will have the opportunity to study a diverse range of courses in law, your second degree and chosen major.
Whether you choose to practice law or pursue another career, the skills and extensive knowledge you acquire through this combined degree will be invaluable. You will graduate with skills and experience in:

- You will learn and develop these skills by studying courses in various aspects of law including:

All students who successfully complete their Bachelor of Laws will graduate with Honours at a level determined by your academic achievement across the whole course of study. You will receive in-depth training in legal research techniques and be equipped with advanced skills suitable for high-level legal research work or further academic study.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) There are a number of ways to gain entry to undergraduate programs at the University of Newcastle. You may be considered for admission on the basis of: a completed NSW Higher School Certificate (HSC) or equivalent – irrespective of age of qualification; completed or partly completed higher education studies; TAFE/VET qualifications, with a minimum of a completed Certificate III (AQF level 3), excluding the Bachelor of Nursing; TAFE/VET qualifications, with a minimum of a completed Certificate II (AQF level 2) in conjunction with meeting additional performance based selection criteria for the Bachelor of Music and associated combined degrees; completion of a recognised enabling program within a 10 year period preceding admission to the University; overseas qualifications equivalent to Australian studies. English language requirement: TOEFL paper-based test score of 500; TOEFL internet based score of 60; IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0; PTE GSE score of 50; Cambridge English: Advanced score of 52.
