在這里學什么?
The ‘next big thing’ might just be your thing.
Information technology (IT) is all about developing, building and maintaining software technology systems to meet the challenges faced by business and society. At UON we train IT graduates to be technically savvy, creative and flexible.
Our majors are designed to meet industry's evolving IT needs. You can focus on business technology and design and manage large and complex software systems critical for big corporations and government. You’ll be equipped to develop cloud-computing solutions or specialise in IT security.
Why combine IT with business? Complete these two bachelor degrees in just four years - compliment your technical skills with business acumen, entrepreneurism and the ability to commercialise IT innovations. Learn how to manage people and finances, propose new business opportunities and market your product. Prepare yourself for a leadership role with this unique package of capabilities.
What you will study
Develop core skills in building software that uses complex databases and sophisticated web interfaces suitable for a whole range of applications – from the corporate office to the mobile phone. You will study courses in:
- web technologies
- programming
- databases and information management
- foundations of information systems
- human computer interaction
- systems analysis and design
- systems and network administration
- project management
In the third year of your degree you can undertake a major industry-linked project spanning two courses across both first and second semester.
Career opportunities
IT graduates enjoy great employment prospects and go on to work in dynamic sectors at the forefront of discovery and innovation. A 2015 report commissioned by the Australian Computer Society, Australia's Digital Pulse (PDF, 2.4MB), highlights the need for 100,000 more workers in the IT sector by 2020.
IT graduates work across almost every industry and not-for-profit organisation. You could go on to work for organisations like Google, Amazon, Facebook or Apple. Your career direction will be shaped by your choice of major – if you take a double major, you’ll have broader opportunities.
The combined degree advantage: your business skills will help you move into leadership roles in IT, support you to start your own business or take your technical skills into a different work environment altogether.
