The need for environmentally sustainable and equitable development is one of the most serious issues facing the contemporary world. The Bachelor of Development Studies/Bachelor of Laws (Honours) program provides opportunities to study the causes and consequences of unequal development and assess policy options for a more equitable and sustainable future, while studying the complementary skills in Law. The Bachelor of Development Studies comprises 4 interdisciplinary majors, Cultures and Citizenship, Environmental Sustainability, Globalisation and Economic Development and Urban and Regional Development. These majors are comprised mostly of courses from the disciplines of Aboriginal Studies, Economics, Environmental Studies, Geography, Politics and Sociology and Anthropology (as is reflected in the core and program directed in Development Studies). Students in the combined program would be able to add to this a study of Law, commencing in Year 1, and becoming the focus of study in years 4 and 5.

為來自中國(guó)的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) There are a number of ways to gain entry to undergraduate programs at the University of Newcastle. You may be considered for admission on the basis of: a completed NSW Higher School Certificate (HSC) or equivalent – irrespective of age of qualification; completed or partly completed higher education studies; TAFE/VET qualifications, with a minimum of a completed Certificate III (AQF level 3), excluding the Bachelor of Nursing; TAFE/VET qualifications, with a minimum of a completed Certificate II (AQF level 2) in conjunction with meeting additional performance based selection criteria for the Bachelor of Music and associated combined degrees; completion of a recognised enabling program within a 10 year period preceding admission to the University; overseas qualifications equivalent to Australian studies. English language requirement: TOEFL paper-based test score of 500; TOEFL internet based score of 60; IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0; PTE GSE score of 50; Cambridge English: Advanced score of 52.
