Construction management graduates work in a whole range of leadership roles in the construction industry – from project management, to quantity surveying, estimating, contract management, scheduling, facilities management, property development and certification. They lead and coordinate physical infrastructure projects, working on site, but playing an indirect role in hands-on building.
Construction managers schedule and coordinate all of the design and construction processes including selecting, hiring and supervising trade contractors. They’re also responsible for the legal and financial aspects of the project.

Career opportunities
Employment opportunities for construction managers are excellent. In 2016, 92% of UON’s construction management graduates had a job within four months of graduating. Our graduates work for major construction companies like LendLease, Brookfield Multiplex, Theiss, John Holland, Hansen Yunken, Leighton Contractors, Laing O’Rourke. The average starting salary for a construction manager is over $89,000.
The Australian construction industry is massive and continues to grow - over the past five years, employment in the NSW construction industry has increased by 11%. The industry employs more than 1 million people, accounting for around 9% of the country's total workforce and contributes about 7.8% of Australia’s gross domestic product (GDP).

為來自中國的學生設(shè)計 There are a number of ways to gain entry to undergraduate programs at the University of Newcastle. You may be considered for admission on the basis of: a completed NSW Higher School Certificate (HSC) or equivalent – irrespective of age of qualification; completed or partly completed higher education studies; TAFE/VET qualifications, with a minimum of a completed Certificate III (AQF level 3), excluding the Bachelor of Nursing; TAFE/VET qualifications, with a minimum of a completed Certificate II (AQF level 2) in conjunction with meeting additional performance based selection criteria for the Bachelor of Music and associated combined degrees; completion of a recognised enabling program within a 10 year period preceding admission to the University; overseas qualifications equivalent to Australian studies. English language requirement: TOEFL paper-based test score of 500; TOEFL internet based score of 60; IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0; PTE GSE score of 50; Cambridge English: Advanced score of 52.
