Study a Bachelor of Communication degree to develop cutting-edge skills to produce ground-breaking, thought-provoking and engaging work in diverse media industries.
With a range of course options in communications you will learn to push your individual creative boundaries, as well as embrace the fluid transformations across today’s complex communication landscape. Choose your major area/s of study and develop strong work-ready skills – writing, creating and producing creative content for television, film, print, radio and digital media.

News & Digital Media
The world-wide-web has had a major impact on traditional forms of media distribution, and this has affected many communication industries, including journalism. But there remains a global need for stories to be told in a variety of formats by journalists, skilled in the craft of writing, analyzing and reporting.
Media Production
The art of media production is the process by which stories, messages, themes and ideas are created and communicated. Students who elect to study a Media Production major within their Bachelor of Communication will develop skills in a range of content creation capabilities – from podcasting and drama production to documentary and television.
Experience Creation
Our Experience Creation major provides students with the skills required to explore the relationship between storytelling and engagement. Students will engage with a range of emerging media technologies, for example Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Artificial Intelligence (AI). This major allows students to integrate these new skills into the development of scripted drama, documentary, animation and games design.
Public Relations and Strategic Communication
Our Public Relations and Strategic Communication major provides students with the skills required in the profession and practice of public relations. This industry assists organizations in establishing and maintaining communication and cooperation with stakeholder groups. Your core courses in public relations will focus your study around strategy, communication and campaign execution.

為來自中國(guó)的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) There are a number of ways to gain entry to undergraduate programs at the University of Newcastle. You may be considered for admission on the basis of: a completed NSW Higher School Certificate (HSC) or equivalent – irrespective of age of qualification; completed or partly completed higher education studies; TAFE/VET qualifications, with a minimum of a completed Certificate III (AQF level 3), excluding the Bachelor of Nursing; TAFE/VET qualifications, with a minimum of a completed Certificate II (AQF level 2) in conjunction with meeting additional performance based selection criteria for the Bachelor of Music and associated combined degrees; completion of a recognised enabling program within a 10 year period preceding admission to the University; overseas qualifications equivalent to Australian studies. English language requirement: TOEFL paper-based test score of 500; TOEFL internet based score of 60; IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0; PTE GSE score of 50; Cambridge English: Advanced score of 52.
