This programme aims to build on students' existing language skills transforming strong linguists into highly employable translators and interpreters, providing the extensive professional skills required to meet the needs of the translation and interpreting industry.
Students will be given the opportunity to work with Mandarin, from and into English, whilst specialising in translation and interpreting, opening the way to specific careers such as conference and public service interpreting, professional in-house or freelance translators and interpreters. The programme strengthens your linguistic skill set giving you exciting opportunities to work in sectors including education, marketing and business. Graduates can begin their careers in translation and interpreting working for UN agencies, international organisations, translation agencies in the UK and abroad, industry, academia. The Programme also provides students with specialist training in interpreting for those wishing to pursue careers in conference and public service interpreting.
