The Modern Languages MPhil are research-based programmes. You can specialise in topics in the languages of: Chinese, French, German, Japanese and Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American studies. Specialism is also possible in translating and interpreting.
The Modern Languages MPhil is offered through the School of Modern Languages. We offer expert supervision in the following areas:
Chinese
French
German
Japanese
Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American studies
Translating and Interpreting
As a student in the School of Modern Languages, you will benefit from the Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) Faculty research training programme. You will choose these research modules in consultation with your supervisors.

為來自中國的學生設計 Students should hold a 75% in a four Year Bachelor degree from aTier 1 University or 80%from a Tier 2 University as comparable to a 2.1and 70%from a Tier 1 University or 75%from a Tier 2 University as comparable to a 2.2. Alternatively, students should hold an 80% in an Adult degree or E-learning as comparable to a 2.1and 75% as equivalent to 2.2.
