The Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences offers graduate programs leading to the degree of Master of Science.
Research may be undertaken in the areas of pharmaceutical science and pharmacy practice. Prospective graduate students are encouraged to visit the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences website to review the facilities available and specific research areas of our faculty.
Program Requirements:
Students are required to complete a minimum of ★6 in coursework and a thesis.
Coursework:
Two ★3 graduate level courses selected in consultation with the supervisor
Coursework will depend on the area of specialization, the undergraduate background of the student, and the recommendation of the supervisor or supervisory committee.
All students are expected to participate in Faculty activities (e.g., faculty seminars, Faculty Research Day, final oral presentations) during their program
Students must register once for credit in PHARM 697
Additional coursework may be required
Thesis:
Registration in 900-level THES. Students must complete and successfully defend a thesis. Students are required to give a final oral presentation of their research, ideally within two weeks of the thesis defense.
Residence Requirement:
The minimum period of residence is two four-month terms of full-time attendance at the University of Alberta.
Length of Program:
The time required to complete the MSc will vary with the individual candidate; however, a minimum of two years is normally required.
The maximum time to complete the thesis-based MSc program as set by the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research is four years.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) The Faculty's minimum admission requirements for the master's thesis and course-based programs are a four year baccalaureate degree, or its academic equivalent, in physical education, kinesiology, recreation or another related degree, with a minimum admission grade point average of 3.0 on most 4.0 grading systems or B on most letter grading systems, based on the most recent two years of full time study (or equivalent).
