The MFA is a flexible, practice-based program, offering students opportunities to develop a studio practice in one medium as well as the opportunity to work across multiple mediums. We support students working in practice-based methodologies and working across theory and practice.

Successful applicants to the MFA program typically have a BFA degree with advanced courses in the studio area to which they are applying, a demonstrated interest in continuing their studies at the graduate level and in professional art practice, a well-developed idea of a direction for their thesis exhibition, and an exceptional portfolio that demonstrates an advanced level of work in their area of interest.
The minimum period of residence is two years of full-time attendance at the University of Alberta.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) The Faculty's minimum admission requirements for the master's thesis and course-based programs are a four year baccalaureate degree, or its academic equivalent, in physical education, kinesiology, recreation or another related degree, with a minimum admission grade point average of 3.0 on most 4.0 grading systems or B on most letter grading systems, based on the most recent two years of full time study (or equivalent).
