Investment Banking MSc:
- Comprehensive training in finance with special focus on investment banking (legal environment, strategic factors, valuation of firms, security issuance, mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, etc)
- Suitable for students with limited or no quantitative background, though willingness to take on numerical challenges is required
- Wide range of elective modules
- Optional, ungraded modules eg C++, Python, Matlab, financial trading on Bloomberg and other trading-room systems, technical analysis
- CFA pathway available which provides intensive preparation for CFA Level 1 exam
School of Economics and Finance
- Around 1,000 master’s students from all over the world
- Teaching by research-active academics as well as visiting city professionals
- Wide range of elective modules
- Wide range of optional short modules (on programming languages, trading platforms such as Bloomberg, etc.)
- QUMMIF investment fund invests real money (currently ￡40,000) based on analysis from students

Structure
Standard pathway
Optional pre-semester modules in maths and statistics Six compulsory taught modules Three elective modules Dissertation (7,000 words)
CFA pathway is identical except that:
students attend additional compulsory module preparing them for CFA Level I exam(often required by major employers in the financial sector) dissertation is 4,000 words.
Assessment
For the standard pathway you'll be assessed by 75% taught modules and 25% by your dissertation.
For the CFA pathway you'll be assessed by 83% taught modules and 17% by your dissertation.
