The Geography MRes is a research-oriented masters programme. Alongside the opportunity to specialise in a chosen area of human geography, you will develop social science research skills and methods appropriate for further study in this field.

Develop your own area of research or complete a dissertation on a subject advertised by the School

This MRes is an approved pathway for ESRC funding, enabling students to apply for ESRC 1+3 funding to cover the MRes and a PhD

A pre-doctoral training programme taught in conjunction with the London Interdisciplinary Social Science Doctoral Training Partnership (LISS DTP)

Can also be pursued as a stand-alone degree

Career paths
Our students have gone on to undertake successful careers within government and secure positions in international non-governmental organisations among others. One recent graduate has become a researcher in the Housing and Development Board.
