The LLM in Comparative and International Dispute Resolution aims to challenge a new generation of lawyers to rethink traditional approaches to conflict. The programme is grounded in dispute resolution theory: you will study a programme that combines broad interdisciplinary training and opportunities for individualised study and skills development.
Queen Mary's online programmes in International Dispute Resolution - Arbitration aim to inspire a new generation of lawyers to rethink traditional approaches to conflict and its resolution, and to equip them with the tools required to succeed in the field. They combine solid theoretical grounding, broad interdisciplinary training and opportunities for individual study and skills development. Further, our dynamic programmes are designed to offer you all the excellent learning opportunities you would get on campus, without the restrictions of fixed times and locations. Students will also achieve PGDip and PGCert.
- Study within the School of International Arbitration (SIA) a leader in the academic discussion on arbitration
- Consider the specific problems that arise in arbitration and contribute to the development of arbitration theory
- Participate in SIA activities such as the Annual SIA Lecture, conferences, symposiums and networking events
- Your fellow students will come from the UK and more than 80 other countries, each able to draw on prior academic and professional experience from different jurisdictions
- Take part in networking and social events run by the Queen Mary Postgraduate Law Society

There is a very high rate of employment of our students within six months of graduation. We have dedicated who organise events and internship opportunities with top UK and international law firms.
This LLM is an excellent foundation for a PhD. It will give you the theoretical grounding you will need to develop a good doctoral project, and then to pursue advanced doctoral research. A number of the graduates of this LLM have progressed onto the PhD programme.
