Rehabilitation and Movement Science (RMS) combines the traditional fields of biomechanics, motor development, motor control and learning, and neuromuscular function. This program examines multidisciplinary aspects of how people move in a variety of settings, including clinical applications, elite performance, and typical changes related to development and aging. The RMS curriculum is designed to support students interested in pursuing careers in the allied health sciences.
Students benefit from the diverse backgrounds and experience of the program faculty and their colleagues across the campus, including faculty collaborators in biology, engineering, medicine, neuroscience, and psychology. The Rehabilitation and Movement Science graduate programs provide several options for graduate degrees.
The graduate specialization in Rehabilitation and Movement Science is a scientifically rigorous program that prepares students for further education and important careers in related fields. The program offers advanced multidisciplinary coursework and extensive opportunities to pursue innovative practical experiences and research.
Both the master’s and doctoral programs are designed to be flexible. Students have some flexibility to adjust their individual programs to line up with their future directions and career goals.
