在這里學什么？

Focused primarily on K-12 populations, the M.S.Ed. in TLL is designed for individuals who wish to work in educational and leadership capacities both in and outside of formal classroom settings. Students choose one of two areas of specialization: Teaching and Learning, or Educational Leadership.

With small student cohorts that emphasize collaborative learning, the TLL program provides students with the opportunity to tailor their studies to their interests. The program is designed so that students graduate with the ability to work in an informed way in both formal and informal educational settings. Recent graduates from our program have gone on to find employment in after-school programs, museum settings, and educational non-profits.

As degree programs in the Teaching, Learning, and Leadership Division are student-driven, TLL students work closely with their academic advisor to tailor their particular program of study to their interests. The M.S.Ed. degree in Teaching, Learning, and Leadership requires completion of 10 course units of approved graduate-level work, an internship, and a final Master's Paper. Students may enroll on a full-time or part-time basis.

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Coursework is just one facet of the graduate experience in the TLL M.S.Ed. Program. Our two-semester Internship Program gives students an in-depth understanding of how learning occurs in out-of-school environments, such as The Franklin Institute science museum, the Philadelphia Mural Arts Program, the Philadelphia Zoo, and the Free Library of Philadelphia. Over the course of the academic year, students work at their internship site and, in parallel, are enrolled in a seminar that addresses informal learning, site-specific topics, and reflexive practice.

• EDUC 616 Foundations of Teaching and Learning (fall)
• EDUC 668 Master's Paper Seminar (fall and spring)
• 1 research methods course (EDUC 667 or EDUC 682) (fall, spring, or summer)
• EDUC 696 Informal Learning Internship Seminar (fall and spring)
