The global analysis (GLAN) secondary concentration permits Wharton students to extend their understanding of the global economy as it applies to firms. One may think of it as a broad concentration in international business.
To fulfill the concentration in global analysis, students must:
- Take at least one upper-level language course beyond the basic proficiency level required for fulfillment of the language requirement. Courses involving cinema are not permitted.
- Study abroad for at least one semester at a Penn-approved site. The program should be in a country where the student’s language of study is spoken, but exceptions may be granted. Note that business courses taken abroad may not count towards the concentration.
- Take three additional upper-level Wharton courses that focus on international aspects of business. None of these three courses may double-count toward the global environment requirement.
