Overview
To meet the increasing demand for MSc students to have industry experience, we have introduced this new two-year MSc programme. Designed for graduates of the highest calibre the MSc will develop advanced knowledge and skills and give you the opportunity to put your knowledge into practice through valuable work experience during a one year industrial placement.
The MSc in Advanced Computer Science is intended for graduates who already have a first degree in Computer Science or a closely related subject, and who wish to extend the knowledge gained in their undergraduate study with more advanced specialised material reflecting current research at the “cutting-edge” of the discipline.
Accredited by the British Computer Society, The Chartered Institute for IT for the purposes of partially meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered IT Professional.
Career prospects
Here are some of the fields in which our MSc graduates are now working:-
- Network systems and data communications analysis
- Computer software engineering (both applications and systems software)
- Network and computer systems administration
- Database administration.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計 Students who do not meet the entry requirements stated above and students who hold a three-year diploma (Da Zhuan) from a recognised Chinese university with good grades, may be eligible for the University’s pre-Master's Programme delivered on campus at the University of Liverpool International College. Students need to have IELTS 6.5 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each component.
