在這里學(xué)什么？ A BA Comparative Literatures and Cultures degree from Bristol gives you an unmatched opportunity to study a wealth of international cultural production in both depth and breadth. You will study the literatures and cultures of the world in translation in comparative frameworks drawing on methodologies from, textual, cultural, and visual studies, as well as from translation, philosophy, history, social science and critical theory.Core units in years one and two currently include: What is Comparative Literature and How Do We Practise It?; Introduction to Visual Cultures; Cultures of Representation and Leadership; and Migrations of Culture. In year three you will complete an independent research project. In addition, you will have a choice of optional units that may be based in the culture of a single language or combine input from a range of cultures.This joint honours course includes an integrated year abroad (the third year of study) where you may undertake university study, a British Council assistantship, or a work placement, in a Spanish-speaking country. You will therefore also follow a programme of study in Spanish, developing linguistic skills to a high level to permit you to communicate easily in writing and orally.Teaching is by experts in the field and is informed by staff research interests. It is delivered in varied ways, through lectures, tutorials, seminars, workshops and one-to-one project supervision. You will participate in small-group teaching and may be asked to give introductory talks to initiate discussion. Assessment methods are equally varied, and include presentations, essays, commentaries, exams, collaborative projects, debates, case study explorations, reports and dissertations. Language assessment consists of a balance between formative and summative assessment, composed of various elements such as grammar, translation, writing, and oral skills.
