專業(yè)概況
在這里學(xué)什么？ Our MSci programme is suited to you if you want to gain a solid foundation for postgraduate study or a career in science.The first two years are common to all of our degree courses. You will study fundamental concepts in inorganic, organic and physical chemistry and applications in areas such as analytical, environmental, materials and theoretical chemistry.You will develop your ability to design experiments and interpret results and learn key skills through our chemistry-specific communications and mathematics units.In your third year you will gain invaluable experience in industry working in a paid position for a major chemical company. Our students have worked for AstraZeneca, Bayer Crop Science, Croda, GlaxoSmithKline and Johnson Matthey in recent years.Working in industry will allow you to develop real-world expertise and specialise in an area of science that you find interesting. The transferable skills that you gain will prove invaluable in helping to shape your future career.Your final year includes a 20-week research project in which you will work with an academic member of staff and their research team on a current challenge in chemistry.

為來(lái)自中國(guó)的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) The International Foundation Programme (IFP) is for international students whose first language is not English. Run by our Centre for Academic Language and Development, the one-year programme will prepare you for the undergraduate degree of your choice through tailored English language and academic units. Applicants with the Gaozhong Biye Zhengshu (Senior High School Certificate) and Gaokao (Chinese University entrance exam) combined with a successfully completed appropriate foundation programme will be considered for admission to our bachelor's degree courses. Applicants who have successfully completed the first year of a Chinese university degree at a prestigious university will be considered for admission to the first year of our bachelor's degree courses. Students need to have IELTS 6.0 overall with either listening or speaking at 6.5, with no skill below 6.0.
