The Master of Philosophy Education is an internationally recognised masters (by research) degree. It is designed to help develop advanced skills in carrying out independent and sustained research.
THESIS
You will complete a 30000-40000 word thesis that evidences your critical application of specialist knowledge. And it's your chance to make an independent contribution to existing scholarship in the area of research.
Through the Master of Philosophy - Education, you will build the scholarly ability to demonstrate advanced learning in research skills and gain mastery of techniques, such as:
- Use of archival or primary evidence
- Analysis of data
- Judgment of conflicting evidence.
You will also gain specialist knowledge in your area of research.
Course structure
- Course code: MR-PHILEDU
- 2 years full-time or 4 years part-time
- You will complete a 30000-40000 word thesis
- You will also present your research findings at a public completion seminar attended by your Advisory Committee.
Learning outcomes
On completion of the course you will be able to:
- demonstrate advanced learning in research skills and mastery of appropriate techniques, such as the use of archival or primary evidence, analysis of data, and judgment of conflicting evidence
- demonstrate specialist knowledge in your area of research
- present the results of your research in publishable quality or work towards incorporating your findings in further research
- demonstrate an understanding of, and commitment to, research ethics or code of practice.
