One of only four educational psychology courses in the country, our highly regarded Master of Educational Psychology will prepare you to work as a registered psychologist supporting individuals with developmental and learning issues.

The course will provide you with valuable skills in counselling, psychological assessment, research methods, intervention, group work, consultation and multidisciplinary team work.

The Master of Educational Psychology is for students who want to work in a range of educational settings upon graduation. These settings include being in schools as a psychologist, student counsellor or welfare coordinator. Or within agencies treating children with emotional and behavioural difficulties or aged care.

Careers

As a graduate, you can work in a range settings as a:

Psychologist Student counsellor Welfare coordinator

Government, community, or private practise

You can work in government, community or private practise, including: agencies treating children with emotional and behavioural difficulties; the Victorian Department of Education and Training; clinics, hospitals and private psychological practice.

Academia

Academia and research is a further possibility at universities and research units.

English language requirements for Coursework degree: IELTS (academic English Only) - 6.5 overall, with written 6.5 and no band less than 6.0; TOEFL (paper-based test) - 577 + TWE 4.5; TOEFL (internet-based test) - 79 + (Writing 21; Speaking 18; Reading 13; Listening 13); Pearson Test of English (Academic) - 58 + no other communicative skill below 50; Cambridge English: Advanced/ Certificate of Advanced English (CAE) - 176 + no less than 185 in Writing and 169 in each other skill. English language requirements for Master of Philosophy: IELTS (academic English Only) - 7.0 overall, with written 7 and no band less than 6.0; TOEFL (paper-based test) - 600 + TWE 5.0; TOEFL (internet-based test) - 94 + (Writing 27; Speaking 18; Reading 13; Listening 13); Pearson Test of English (Academic) - 65 + written communicative skill of 65 and no other communicative skill below 50; Cambridge English: Advanced/ Certificate of Advanced English (CAE) - 185 + no less than 185 in Writing and 169 in each other skill.
