The Master of Art Curatorship has been taught at the University of Melbourne for nearly 30 years. This comprehensive program incorporates theoretical, historical and practical study units that focus on the changing role of art museums and arts organisations in collecting, interpreting and exhibiting art. Leading professionals from the Australian art world contribute to teaching programs, as well as the staff of the University’s cultural collections and the Grimwade Centre for Cultural Materials Conservation, ensuring all knowledge you gain is relevant and contemporary.
The Master of Art Curatorship is for those who want to focus their career in the arts museum sector. If you have a background in the arts, humanities, art history, studio arts, and collections museum, then this program will get your career to the next stage. The program is niche in that it only looks are the art visual culture, you'll be looking into the world of the art museum, which is a very vibrant sector within itself.

English language requirements for Coursework degree: IELTS (academic English Only) - 6.5 overall, with written 6.5 and no band less than 6.0; TOEFL (paper-based test) - 577 + TWE 4.5; TOEFL (internet-based test) - 79 + (Writing 21; Speaking 18; Reading 13; Listening 13); Pearson Test of English (Academic) - 58 + no other communicative skill below 50; Cambridge English: Advanced/ Certificate of Advanced English (CAE) - 176 + no less than 185 in Writing and 169 in each other skill. English language requirements for Master of Philosophy: IELTS (academic English Only) - 7.0 overall, with written 7 and no band less than 6.0; TOEFL (paper-based test) - 600 + TWE 5.0; TOEFL (internet-based test) - 94 + (Writing 27; Speaking 18; Reading 13; Listening 13); Pearson Test of English (Academic) - 65 + written communicative skill of 65 and no other communicative skill below 50; Cambridge English: Advanced/ Certificate of Advanced English (CAE) - 185 + no less than 185 in Writing and 169 in each other skill.
