This course brings a research component to your existing knowledge so that you will graduate with a competitive edge in language teaching, language assessment and language program evaluation.
Who is it for?
If you have previous skills and experience in language teaching, language assessment and testing, speech pathology, language program evaluation or interpreting, the Master of Applied Linguistics pushes your career into the next stage.
Boost your professional knowledge and sharpen your vocational and career skills by specialising in one of five areas:

Students can choose from the following specialisations:

On graduation from the Master of Applied Linguistics, you will be ready for work in professional fields including:

English language requirements for Coursework degree: IELTS (academic English Only) - 6.5 overall, with written 6.5 and no band less than 6.0; TOEFL (paper-based test) - 577 + TWE 4.5; TOEFL (internet-based test) - 79 + (Writing 21; Speaking 18; Reading 13; Listening 13); Pearson Test of English (Academic) - 58 + no other communicative skill below 50; Cambridge English: Advanced/ Certificate of Advanced English (CAE) - 176 + no less than 185 in Writing and 169 in each other skill. English language requirements for Master of Philosophy: IELTS (academic English Only) - 7.0 overall, with written 7 and no band less than 6.0; TOEFL (paper-based test) - 600 + TWE 5.0; TOEFL (internet-based test) - 94 + (Writing 27; Speaking 18; Reading 13; Listening 13); Pearson Test of English (Academic) - 65 + written communicative skill of 65 and no other communicative skill below 50; Cambridge English: Advanced/ Certificate of Advanced English (CAE) - 185 + no less than 185 in Writing and 169 in each other skill.
